Method 1311 is applicable for the determination of the mobility of both organic and inorganic analytes present in liquid, solid, and multiphasic wastes. Materials designated as toxic, based on the results of Method 1311 may not be disposed of in conventional landfills. This method will estimate the toxicity of solid waste materials under the leaching conditions found in a landfill. This method is utilized in combination with other methods in the SW-846 Methods for determining the presence and concentration of regulated compounds (specified in Title VIII and Title IX) in wastes
EPA Method Series Information
The EPA Method 500 series includes methods and guidelines for drinking water standards designed to identify and quantify organic compounds in municipal drinking water.
The EPA Method 600 series guidelines are typically used in conjunction with the EPA 500 series to provide a comprehensive set of methods for monitoring organic pollutants in wastewater under the United States Clean Water Act.
The EPA Method 8000 series include methods for a wide range of organic compounds, including volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, pesticides, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
