Simulated Lung Fluid with Surfactant Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) is a phospholipid and one of the main pulmonary surfactants found in lung fluid. The main function of DPPC is to reduce the surface tension of liquid in the lungs and to help adsorption of oxygen into the air-liquid interface. It is known to be a difficult process to bring DPPC into solution. With that in mind, we offer a synthetic lung fluid with DPPC dissolved and pre-mixed for your convenience.
