Method 8080 is used to determine the concentration of various organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Method 508 is applicable to the determination of chlorinated pesticides in ground water and finished drinking water by gas chromatography with an electron capture detector. Method 508.1 is applicable for the determination of twenty-nine chlorinated pesticides, three herbicides and four organohalides in drinking water, ground water, and drinking water in any treatment stage using liquid-solid extraction and electron capture gas chromatography. Method 508A is applicable for screening of Polychlorinated Biphenyls by gas chromatography and may be used for screening finished drinking water, raw source water, or drinking water in any treatment stage for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
EPA Method Series Information
The EPA Method 500 series includes methods and guidelines for drinking water standards designed to identify and quantify organic compounds in municipal drinking water.
The EPA Method 600 series guidelines are typically used in conjunction with the EPA 500 series to provide a comprehensive set of methods for monitoring organic pollutants in wastewater under the United States Clean Water Act.
The EPA Method 8000 series include methods for a wide range of organic compounds, including volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, pesticides, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
